That's what the Reading Check-In is for.
What happens during the check-in?
I'll meet with your child online and check the reading skills that are most relevant to where they are right now. Depending on your child's level, we may look at things like:
Letter sounds • Blending • Decoding • Word reading • Accuracy • Fluency
Then we'll spend a few minutes together talking about what I noticed.
You'll leave knowing:
✓ What your child is already doing well
✓ Where skills begin to become more difficult
✓ The most important skill to focus on next
WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS MORE HELP?
Sometimes a Reading Check-In is all you need.

You may leave knowing exactly what to practice and feel ready to keep going with the curriculum you already have.

Hi, I'm Arika.
I'm a credentialed teacher with more than 25 years of teaching experience, including 15 years homeschooling my own children.
I've worked with students at many different reading levels, and one thing I've learned is that more curriculum isn't always the answer. Sometimes we simply need to slow down, figure out where the gap is, and teach that skill step by step.
